
ProMASS News Bureau: Agartala: Sep 08, 2016: Aiming at safeguarding farmers’ interests, the 1st South District Conference of All India Kishan Sabha (AIKS) has started on Sep 7, 2016 at Belonia. Preceding to the conference, a rally attended by couple of thousand farmers traversed through Belonia town. Local MP Jitendra Chaudhury addressed the mammoth gathering of farmers. Aiming to highlight plight of farmers, the conference calls for ‘Krishi Banchau, Krishak Banchau, Desh Banchau’. Among others, Zilla Sabhadhipati of South District also attended the conference and addressed the farmers. Participating farmers claimed, Krishak Banchau, Desh Banchau call is gaining momentum all over the country.
Meanwhile, in a Facebook post, MP Jitendra Chaudhury writes, “A clarion call for making success of the Kisan Sabha’s All India Jatha from four corners of the country, to be culminated on 24th November, 2016 to voice the agony of the millions of peasantry in the country. Kisan Sabha pledges to check the indiscriminate snatching of millions of hectares of land in the name of industrialisation and demanding for a comprehensive Agriculture Policy.”
