Agartala, Manabendra Nag: Sep 25, 2016: Apart from guarding our borders, BSF jawans are involved in various welfare activities in the State. As part of such welfare activities, 14 battalion of BSF has conducted a health camp in highly sensitive and marginalized villages along the Indo-Bangla border at 32 mile BOP in Dhalai district, Tripura.
This BOP is located at 35 KM away from BSF base camp at Chawmanu. Surrounded by dense forest amidst hilly regions, the health camp at the BOP came as a boon to marginalized tribal communities. Around 280 people from Tripura and Reang communities including children and women took benefits of the health camp. Free medical consultation, treatment etc were provided to needy people of hill Tripura.
Commandant Sindhu Kumar, Deputy Commandant SK Srivastav and Medical Officer Deputy Commandant Dr Atul Chauhan attended the camp. BSF distributed foods and potable water among the villagers. Sindhu Kumar explained the purpose of arranging such camps and elaborately discussed about importance of Civic Actions by Jawans.
