June 06, 2017: Home Minister Rajanth Singh has termed US President Donald Trump’s statements on Paris Climate deal as shocking.
Announcing withdrawal of the US from the deal, President Trump had cited a number of reasons for the decisions and had alleged that India makes its participation on receiving billions and billions of dollars from developed countries.
Addressing a conference on Capacity Building of State Disaster Response Forces in New Delhi today, Mr. Singh expressed hope that US will rethink over the decision of withdrawal from the accord.
Yesterday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had strongly rejected US President’s charge against India on climate deal saying New Delhi signed the Paris agreement not under duress or for lure of money but due to its commitment to protect environment.
During the function, Rajnath Singh said the NDRF infrastructure has been strengthened by raising two more battalions. He said the all stakeholders should work together to prevent loss of lives during disaster. (AIR NEWS)
