Agartala, April 18, 2020:  Sanjay, a migrant laborer was initially in anxiety as he took his pregnant wife to a Hospital in Agartala, capital of Tripura – far away from his home land. Sanjoy could not return home with his wife due to the nationwide lockdown. As time tickled lazily, his agony and anxiety soon turned into unbridled joy as his wife gave birth to a baby boy. Jumping in joy, he could think nothing but named the new born as ‘Lockdown’.

Sanjay’s wife Puja, gave birth to a baby boy at IGM hospital in Agartala few days back and since then Sanjay is determined that “Lockdown” would be the best suited name for the new life.

The process of naming the child is yet to be done and needs some time as per the rituals. But according to Sanjay, he has already finalized the name.

“At the time of lockdown, the new born baby has brought happiness to our life. I feel this name – ‘lockdown’ – will suit him the most and will act as an anecdote for the generations to come about this nationwide crisis”, Sanjay told reporters.

He and his wife hail from Rajasthan. Even though the duo were planning to return to Rajasthan but could not make it as lockdown was enforced and subsequently all the trains were cancelled.

Sanjay along with his pregnant wife and 16 others were living at a camp in Badharghat School. The administration was providing them food, water and the essential medicines in regular basis. A team of officials also visited the camp today to inquire about the health condition of the new mother and the child.

Puja was hospitalized at the IGM in Agartala four days ago where she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She had been discharged from the hospital on Friday and were sent back to the camp in Badharghat School.

A medical check-up was also organized for the inmates of the camp on Saturday. When asked by doctors as to what name had he thought for his child, Sanjay said, “I think I will name him Lockdown.”Earlier this month, a baby boy in Uttar Pradesh was named ‘Sanitizer’.

In fact, names like ‘Corona’, ‘Covid’, and ‘Lockdown’ have already grabbed attention as far as new babies were concerned.
