Even as the Covid19 situation in Tripura appears to be grim, the number of patients recovered outnumbered the positive cases detected in the last 24 hours. However, four persons succumbed to Covid19 in the last 24 hours pushing up the cumulative death toll to 408. Covid-19 positivity rate is hovering around 5 percent as per the official report.
Meanwhile, the State Government is leaving no stone unturned to contain the transmission of the virus. Night Curfew is in force from 6 pm in all the urban areas across the State. Despite several other such steps, Tripura is apparently reeling under a serious threat of the second wave of COVID19.
While the active cases already crossed 2,500 marks, the coronavirus claimed four more lives in the past 24 hours.
However, the good sign amid a huge load of new cases is that the recovery rate stands 92 percent following the proper management and dedicated service being delivered by the healthcare staff.
According to an official report, tests of as many as 3460 samples were conducted in the past 24 hours– 2330 in RAT and 1130 in RTPCR. Among them, 133 samples were detected positive while four more deaths were reported—the death tally is highest in the second wave. However, the Fatality rate stands at 1.08 percent.
Meanwhile, 150 patients have recovered during the same period taking the recovery to 92 percent, according to the report.
In the meantime, the state government had already initiated a special antigen test centre in the West Tripura district where most of the new cases were being reported at present.
The special antigen tests were being carried out at those AMC areas where the positivity rate is high. West Tripura district surveillance officer Dr. Sangeeta Chakraborty, MPS Mrinal Kanti Acharjee and IDSP Subhrangshu Saha had visited the antigen centres on Monday.
