Cong in Tripura: Pijush roars for Hunkar rally on Jan 29, Birajit bats for Jaidul
While Tripura Pradesh Congress in-charge Chief Pijush Biswas roared about Hunkar rally on January 29 next, a group of Congress activist led by former State Congress president Birajit Sinha held a demo in front of Tripura Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Agartala protesting against the arrest of Congress Minority Cell chairman Jiadul Hussain. Irony, Hussain was arrested for his alleged involvement in attack, few days ago, on Pijush Biswas.
Twin programmes of Congress, once again rekindled the theory of inner squabbles between Pijush Biswas and Birajit Sinha. However, both leaders refrained from talking anything against each other – but who can stop rumor mills.
In a press meet TPCC president Pijush Biswas said, Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee shall organize a big public meeting on January 29 next at Agartala to press for a set of demands,.
According to Biswas, the rally will be organized to give a message that Congress has the potential to leave a mark. Expectedly, the party has decided to arrange a gathering of 10 thousand people on that day.
Addressing the media persons present in the press conference here in the Congress Bhavan Biswas also said, “Issues like Chit fund and price rise of essential commodities must be placed in front and our rally shall deal with these issues”.
According to TPCC sources, AICC Tripura in-charge Kuljit Singh Nagra, Susmita Deb and other heavy weight leaders are scheduled to join the programme.
Meanwhile, Congress minority department under the leadership of ex-president Birajit Sinha gathered in front police headquarters on Wednesday in protest of the arrest of Jiadul Hossain. The ex-president of the Congress state unit said, Jaidul Hossain was falsely implicated in the sitting TPCC chief Pijush Biswas assault case.
Notably, Jiadul is known as a close confident of Sinha who is allegedly not in good terms with incumbent TPCC president in-charge Pijush Biswas. Attack on Biswas drew sharp criticism and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb directed the Police to act against attackers without considering political colour. Along with other, Police also arrested Jaidul for his alleged involvement in the attack.
Biswas never openly came out against the arrest of Jaidul, but Birajit Sinha became vocal against the arrest and alleged that Jaidul was falsely implicated.
