For Atmanirbhar Tripura, Micro traders need to obtain Trade license: Dy CM

Registration of small-scale business unit by obtaining a trade license is necessary to avail loan facilities, insurance facilities etc. to become self-reliant and make Tripura ‘Atmanirbhar’. Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma said this of Saturday while speaking at mega awareness campaign at Halahali in Kamalpur on Swanirbhar Yojana.

Among others, Food Minister Manoj Kanti Biswas and Dhalai district Sabhadhipati Rubi Ghosh were also present in the programme.

“The Stare Government has taken initiative to register small and micro-scale business units through trade licensing. The process of licensing has also overhauled to simplify the licensing process”, Dev Varma said.

Talking about benefits of obtaining trade license, Dev Varma said, “Small traders having trade licenses will be able to apply for loans to expand their business units. Moreover, Small and micro traders with trade licenses will be brought under the ambit of insurance facility in which the government would assist the traders paying Rs 1000 as premium”, the Deputy Chief Minister said.

Dev Varma attempted to encourage people to become self-sufficient and pitched for people’s participation. “The way Swachcga Bharat Abhiyan became a mass movement with people’s participation, Gram Swaraj Abhiyan also needs the participation of common people and as part of this Abhiyan, Swanirbhar Yojana should be made successful”, he opined.      

He urged people to co-operate with the Government in making Government schemes a grand success. “The State Government has taken several steps to make people self-reliant as well as the development of rural and urban areas,”  Dev Varma said.

In his speech, Manoj Kanti Deb stressed on corruption-free and transparent Gram Panchayats for fulfilling the basic needs of common people.

In today’s programme, trade licenses were handed over to 8 traders, a cheque of Rs 1000 as insurance premium was handed over to each of 12 beneficiaries. Besides, Loan sanction letters were handed over to 15 micro and small traders on behalf of Punjab National bank.
