Tripura by-polls underway: Read reactions of CM, Dy CM, Sudip; Casting 51.77pc till 1pm

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, also the BJP nominated candidate from 8-Bordowali Assembly Constituency said after winning the By-poll, his priority would be to address basic problems of common people.

 

He was speaking with the media after casting his vote at Maharani Tulsibati School in Agartala today (Thursday)

 

Meanwhile, according to the Chief Electoral Officer’s Facebook post estimated 51.77 pc votes were cast till 1 pm today.

I came to know about people’s basic issues directly from them. After winning the by-poll, I will focus on addressing the issues”, Dr Saha said and added he is confident of victories in all the four Assembly Constituencies where by-polls are underway today (Thursday).

 

He also assured the voters that by-polls would free and fair. Dr Saha urged people to come out in numbers and exercise their democratic rights.

 

When asked about some stray incidents of violence, Dr Saha asserted he would look into the matter and administrative take actions. He also commented if the allegations of violence are related to involvement of BJP supporters, Party will also look into matter apart from the administration.

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma after casting his vote at 6-Agartala Assembly Constituency today claimed vote is underway in a smooth way. Some of the stray incidents were reported but overall situation is normal.

Congress Candidate from 6-Agartala Assembly seat, Sudip Roy Barman raises multiple complaints and alleged, people were being prevented from going to polling booths. Incident of a stabbing was also reported.

“I have informed the concerned Officials including the CEO, ROs and observers – however, nothing happened and situation did not improve”, Roy Barman told the media.
