Tripura Covid19: Death toll climbs to 44, more 121 cases found, CM's family tests negative

One middle-aged patient has died at AGMC in Agartala on Wednesday pushing the death toll to 44 and the deceased had a history of Liver disorder. Also, 121 new cases have been detected today. In the meantime, the quarantine period of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has ended on Wednesday. Besides, the COVID19 test reports of two members in Chief Minister’s family have also come negative.

Total 2496 samples have been tested today out of which 121 fresh cases were detected. Among these fresh cases, 37 persons hail from West District and 31 from Gomati district. In Sepahijala district, 17 persons have been found positive today while 14 in North and 11 persons in Khowai tested Covid19 positive. Four persons have been detected from Unakoti, two from South and one patient from Dhalai district have been found infected with Coronavirus.

According to Media Bulletin on Covid19, total cumulative number of Covd19 cases stands at 6482, so far. However, out of this, 4912 patients have been cured while 18 patients migrated out. Cumulative total number of active cases stands at 1523.

Meanwhile, State Government announced ‘Unlock measures -2’ with effect from August 11 in areas outside containment zones. Much relief to common people, this has opened inter-district movement of vehicles. Even as Unlocking process has started, administration has stressed on using masks as well as on maintaining social distancing. However, night curfew will remain in force and so also lockdown in Containment zones.
