Tripura News: CM meets vaccinated centenarian, obtains her blessings, urges people to get inoculated

he 105 years old Tara Kanya Debbarma received Covid vaccine on Sunday. Her instance was widely lauded. Deb interacted with the woman and said that Tara Kanya Debbarma was doing well after receiving the Vaccine.

 

Deb shared photos with the centenarian in his social media account and wrote, “Today I met Tara Kanya Debbarma from Brahmachara village. The 105-year-old woman was vaccinated against the corona virus.

 

When I showed him a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she can recognize him immediately”.

 

Highlighting her example, the Chief Minister further wrote, “If she can get vaccinated then who is stopping you? Come forward and get the Covid vaccine”.

 

Following the tradition, the Chief Minister touched the feet of the centenarian, she obtained her blessings. Receiving the blessings, Deb exuded confidence and wrote, “ I believe that we will be able to present Tripura as the first fully vaccinated state in the country before the Hon'ble Prime Minister. We have the blessings of the heroic women like 105 year old Tarakanya Debbarma. She is healthy after taking the first dose of Covid vaccine and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.

 

Earlier, the State government announced that a special vaccination drive would be conducted across the state on July 27 and 28 next. The drive will be conducted with an aim to vaccinate 100 percent eligible population.

 

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb appealed to all the ministers, MLAs and local elected representatives for taking special initiative to make this drive successful.

 

An official report said, as many as 29,52,376 doses were administered in the state so far  - 22,10,481 people received the first shot and 7,41,895 people among them also got the second dose.

 

Total 1,67,960 doses were in the stock at present while more 22000 Covaxin and 1,25,000 Covishield were expected to reach the state by this month.
