Unlock Measures-1 begins in Tripura from August 4 sans containment zone

As total Lockdown in Tripura is set to come to an end at 5am on Tuesday, State Government has issued fresh directives and guidelines to begin the process of “Unlock measure 1” on Monday. However, unlocking processing will be applicable to in the areas outside containment zones. The lockdown norms will continue in the containment zones like before.

The new orders have granted few exemptions if compared to the lockdown situations specifically in areas that fall outside the containment zones and also extended the night curfew until August 31 next.

“I, therefore, in the capacity of the Chairman of the State Executive  Committee of Tripura State Disaster Management Authority, in exercise of the  powers conferred under Section 22 (21 (h) of the Disaster Management Act,  2005 direct enforcement ‘Unlock measures-l’ outside containment zones in  the State of Tripura for the period from 5 AM of 4th August, 2020 to 5 AM of  11th August, 2020.1 However, ‘lockdown measures’ will continue in  containment zones,”the new order reads.

“The night curfew will be imposed till 31st August 2020 for the period of 9PM to 5 AM. DM & Collectors will issue orders for the imposition of the curfew”, the order added.

However, by and large, all the business establishments that deal in essential items such as grocery, milk, baby food, fruits, vegetables, meat medicines and optical items have been asked to remain closed.

In the orders, emphasis has been laid on the issues related to social distancing and unwanted crowd formation at potential places. All the areas where there is a possibility of crowd formation will remain closed along with inter-state and inter-district transport. However, green signals have been shown to intra-district public and private transport but in every case, social distancing has to be followed strictly.

No changes have been seen in case of marriage and funeral ceremonies, the maximum attendance strength is fixed at 50 and 20 people respectively.

However, in the containment zones, the ‘lockdown’ will be continued with the earlier declared restrictions in force. In these areas, intensive contact tracing, house to house surveillance and other clinical interventions will be organized. The select zone will be converted into orange zones only after the local District Magistrate clears it.

Meanwhile, exemptions have also been granted for liquor shops (9 AM to 7 PM), restaurants, Yoga centers, construction and related equipment following respective SOPs. However, the earlier decided penalties have been also made.
