ProMASS: DEC 17,2016: Delegation level talks are underway between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in New Delhi. The entire gamut of relations between the two countries and issues of mutual interests will be discussed during the talks. The two sides are expected to sign agreements in various areas after the meeting.
President Rahmon, who is on a state visit to India, was accorded ceremonial reception at the forecourts of the Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning. President Pranab Mukherjee received the visiting dignitary.President Rahmon arrived in New Delhi yesterday after visiting Kochi. The visiting dignitary is on a five day visit to India from 14th of this month. President Rahmon will also call on President Pranab Mukherjee who will host a banquet today for the visiting dignitary.
This will be the sixth visit of President Rahmon to India. During his last visit to India in 2012, the two countries elevated their bilateral relations to the level of a long-term strategic partnership.Bilateral relations includes cooperation in various areas like political, economic, health, human resources development, defence, science and technology, culture and tourism.
