ProMASS: Jan 11, 2017: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that Goods and Services Tax and demonetisation will enhance growth and the impact will be seen this year. Speaking at the 8th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar, he said after transient impact, demonetisation will lead to cleaner and larger GDP.
He said most of the issues related to GST have been resolved. He hoped that a few critical issues will be resolved in the next few weeks. Mr Jaitley also emphasised on the need for bold reforms to transform the economy.
Mr. Jaitely said that Government is trying its best to implement GST before April 2017. He said that Vibrant Gujarat has become foremost economic conclave in India which showcases both, the strength of Indian economy as well as potential of Gujarat.
He said that time has now come to take several important decisions to add to the strength of the Indian economy. He emphasized the need of bold decisions to transform the economy. Mr. Jaitley said that the society is aspiring to evolve from a developing country to a developed country.
