Tripura Congress launches door-to-door campaign criticizing PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ for ignoring rising prices, unemployment, and social injustice affecting common citizens.

Agartala, (Tripura) Jun 22: In a move to connect directly with citizens, the Tripura Pradesh Congress in Agartala launched a door-to-door leaflet distribution campaign on Sunday, as part of a country wide initiative.

The campaign aims to draw public attention to a perceived disconnect between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program and the daily struggles faced by ordinary Indians like inflation and unemployment etc.

Starting from Congress Bhavan in Agartala and fanning out across the Post Office Chowmuhani area, party workers reached households and delivered leaflets to residents, initiating what they promise will be a comprehensive outreach across the entire state.

The core message of the Congress campaign, mentioned on the distributed leaflets, is a pointed critique of PM Modi’s program.

In the leaflets, Congress activists alleged, despite 11 years and numerous episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the program has, according to the party, consistently overlooked the “real struggles of common people.”

“For over a decade, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been a platform for the Prime Minister, but where is the voice of the common man?” questioned a Congress worker while distributing leaflets in a bustling neighborhood.

“Our families are grappling with skyrocketing prices for essential goods – dal, cooking oil, vegetables – but have these ever been mentioned?”

The leaflets specifically highlight several pressing issues that the Congress alleges have been conspicuously absent from the Prime Minister’s addresses.

Apart from the unabated rise in the prices of daily necessities, the burning issues include, the growing specter of unemployment, pervasive social injustice, and the deeply concerning increase in crimes against women.

Furthermore, the campaign brings into sharp focus the particular hardships faced by marginalized communities, including Scheduled Tribes (STs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and minorities, asserting that their plights have remained unacknowledged on the national airwaves.

Through this direct engagement, Congress leaders are posing a series of direct questions to the public, encouraging introspection on these critical issues.

The party hopes this grassroots approach will resonate with voters, helping Congress in Tripura gain some grounds. With only three MLAs in the 60-seat Tripura Assembly, Congress party, always in reported inner-party squabbles, is trying to assert its influence in the State.

Notably, the main opposition party in Tripura, CPIM also launched a point-sharp campaign against the ruling BJP targeting the Viksit Bharat campaign.

While BJP is championing 11-year BJP rule under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and highlighting development, the opposition parties in Tripura appear to be trying to launch counter-campaigns with a focus on ‘plight’ of common people.
