November 09, 2017: Violent clashes between BJP and CPIM supporters broke out today evening at Bishalgarh area under Sepahijala District and at least three persons were injured. Protesting against the violence, CPIM held a road blockade on the NH road while BJP supporters gheroaed the Bishalgarh PS.
It is learnt, troubles started from Murabari under Bishalgarh. Amidst counter allegations by CPIM and BJP supporters, it is learnt two persons, sitting in a tea stall had an altercation over family issues. However, soon the altercation turned into political violence between CPIM and BJP.
In the clash, two CPIM and one BJP supporters were injured. As the injured persons were taken to the hospital, tension erupted in Bishalgarh. BJP supporters reportedly ransacked CPIM Party Office and TMSU – workers’ union of CPIM – Office in front of Police Station. Also, BJP supporters gheroaed the PS forcing Police force and officials confined in the PS.
Even though additional Police forces reached the spot, the situation is still reported to be volatile.
