Three trains connecting Tripura short-terminated
- Train No. 12501 (Kolkata-Agartala) Garib Rath Express, commencing journey on June 22, 2025, will be short-terminated at Guwahati.
- Train No. 20501 (Agartala-Anand Vihar Terminal) Tejas Express, commencing journey on June 23, 2025, will be short-terminated at Badarpur.
- Train No. 12519 (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Agartala) Express, commencing journey on June 22, 2025, will be short-terminated at Guwahati.
Dharmanagar (Tripura) Jun 23: Due to stones and landslides on the railway track in the New Haflong-Jatinga Lampur section, caused by poorly managed construction work by NHAI for road repairs, train services in the Lumding-Badarpur hilly section have been suspended from this evening to ensure passenger safety.
It is reported that road repair work was ongoing in the area. As a result, the low-flow slope between the road and railway track collapsed and swelled, causing the entire section to shift toward the track. Water from the roadside is also flowing directly onto the track.
Given the critical situation and extreme unsafety for train passage, railway operations between Lumding, New Haflong, and Badarpur have been immediately halted, leading to train cancellations and short-term suspensions in this section.
To prevent further damage to this crucial railway connecting Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and parts of Barak Valley, the Lumding division railway authorities have already written to NHAI authorities to undertake proper safety measures using manpower and equipment.
The railway has deployed manpower to clear debris from the tracks. The damage to the railway has affected the services of the following trains:
Train Cancellations:
- Train No. 15615 (Guwahati-Silchar) Express, Train No. 15611 (Rangiya-Silchar) Express, Train No. 15617 (Guwahati-Dullabchera) Express, and Train No. 15612 (Silchar-Rangiya) Express, commencing journey on June 23, 2025.
- Train No. 15618 (Dullabchera-Guwahati) Express and Train No. 05637 (Naharlagun-Silchar) Special, commencing journey on June 24, 2025.
Short-Terminated Trains:
- Train No. 05638 (Silchar-Naharlagun) Special, commencing journey on June 23, 2025, will be short-terminated at New Harangajao.
- Train No. 12513 (Charlapalli-Silchar) Express, commencing journey on June 21, 2025, will be short-terminated at Lumding.
- Train No. 12501 (Kolkata-Agartala) Garib Rath Express, commencing journey on June 22, 2025, will be short-terminated at Guwahati.
- Train No. 20501 (Agartala-Anand Vihar Terminal) Tejas Express, commencing journey on June 23, 2025, will be short-terminated at Badarpur.
