ProMASS: Jan 18, 2017: Chief minister TR Zeliang has called upon the people of Nagaland to use the fuel efficiently. He urged people to adopt and practice various fuel-substituting habits such as walking, cycling, sharing vehicle, use of public transport and avoiding unnecessary use of motor vehicles.
Notably, a month-long campaign on Oil Conservation has been organised throughout the country by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, along with Public Sector Oil and Gas companies. In his message on this month-long campaign, Zeliang emphasized on creating awareness on the need to conserve oil and natural gas. having said that import bill of our country is high, he cautioned, the country always remains dependent on the rate of global crude oil prices. It has become imperative for the country to devise ways and means of reducing dependence on imported energy, he said.
