ProMASS: Jan 23, 2017: Reservation issue, once again, cropped up prior to ensuing Assembly Polls in five States. On Friday RSS spokesperson Manmohan Vaidya spoke against reservation and later on Sunday Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Bilas Paswan blasted RSS for such comment. Notably, RSS Chief Mohan made statement speaking in favour of reviewing reservation system during Bihar Assembly Poll campaign which cost BJP dearly.
In a statement Ram Bilas Pawan said, reservation is a constitutional right and nobody can abolish it. He also said, reservation will stay as long as caste system exists. Assuring people not to be confused over RSS remarks on reservation, he also mentioned, PM Modi’s comment on reservation which stated no one could touch reservation as long as he is alive.
RSS spokesperson Manmohan Vaidya on Friday batted for reviewing the reservation policy, arguing that even Ambedkar had not favoured its continuance forever. Vaidya’s comment over reservation issue on the face of upcoming Assembly Polls, especially in UP is likely to affect prospect of BJP. In a statement Minister Paswan further said, his party – LJP would fight against any attempts which aims at changing reservation policy.
