5pc DA for Tripura Govt employees, pensioners announced, Around 1,88,494 to be benefitted

Tripura-Govt-5-pc-DA-announcedTripura Government has announced 5 percent Dearness Allowance for State Government employees and pensioners with effect from July 1, 2022. Number of employees, pensioners and workers expected to be benefitted stands at 1 Lakh 88 thousand 494 (approx). To provide 5 per cent DA, the annual expenditure would be Rs 523.80 crore, said ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury while briefing media on State Cabinet decisions in Agartala on Tuesday (Aug 2).

 

Reacting to the announcement, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma who also holds Finance portfolio, wrote in a facebook post, “Today the state government declared DA of 5per cent for the different categories of government employees. The government has come forward for the benefit of govt. employees even in these difficult times . We will always try to give them benefits as much as we can taking into consideration different factors. Inspired by Sri Modij ji”. Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also hailed the decision.

“The state government needs funds of Rs. 104.76 crore for providing 1 percent DA. As the cabinet decided to provide 5 percent DA, the annual expenditure will be Rs. 523.80 crore,” Chowdhury told the reporters.

 

While Rs 523.80 crore would be the annual expenditure, for the remaining 9 months (July 22 to March 23) for the 2022-23 FY, Rs 392.85 crore will be spent.

 

Replying to a query, the ICA minister said the state government is trying to mitigate the gap of DA with central government employees.

 

enewstime-Tripura-Govt-5-pc-DA-announcedAccording to details, DA along with proportionate increase in remuneration/wages for the fixed Pay employees/DRWs etc will be effective from July 1, 2022.

 

Different category of employees will get DA/DR as follows: 5% DA and DR over the revised pay and revised basic pension w.e.f July 1, 2022 will be given to State Government employees and pensioners including family pensioners respectively.

 

Fixed Pay employees – both Group C and Group D will get additional 5% over the fixed basic pay. DRW (Group C/Technical) engaged with Finance Dept’s concurrence will get additional Rs 12.50 per day. Wages to Contingent/Permanent Labourer/DRW etc (Group D) engaged with Finance Dept’s concurrence additional Rs 11.50 per day.

 

Monthly rated (Group D) workers engaged with Finance Dept’s concurrence additional Rs 340 per month. Part Time workers / Mali/ Guard/ Gardener etc engaged with prior concurrence of Finance dept will get additional Rs 262.50 per month.

 

Adult Literacy Teacher / Part Time Instructor / Community Health Guide engaged without Finance dept’s concurrence will get additional Rs 188.50 per month.

 

Subject to the availability of own resources, PSUs and other Autonomous Bodies may consider release of the above instalment of DA for their own employees and proportionate increase of rate of remuneration / wages for the DRWs/MRWs/PTWs/Contingent workers etc. over their existing remuneration/wages.
