Mar 26, 2017: In Bangladesh, five persons including 2 policemen were killed and 40 injured in two separate bomb blasts late last evening near a terrorist’s hide-out in Shibbari area of Sylhet city, even as commando operation continues.
Police suspect the bombs were hurled by supporters of the terrorists inside the besieged five-storey building. Seventy-eight people have been evacuated from the building. US-based Intelligence Agency SITE has reported that terror group IS has claimed responsibility for the attack. AIR correspondent reports the seriously injured RAB Intelligence Chief has been air-lifted to Dhaka for intensive care.
Police sources say that the two blasts look like planned explosions as maximum casualties came from the second blast when police rushed to the spot of the first blast. Eye witnesses say motor-cycle borne youth exploded the first blast. The second bomb exploded evn as bomb disposal unit was approaching it. The cammnado operation which began yesterday is continuing for the second straight day today. (AIR News)
