Apr 15, 2017: The two-day BJP National Executive meeting began at Janata Maidan in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar this evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lighted the lamp along-with Party President Amit Shah, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and senior leader L.K.Advani to mark the beginning of the meet.
Briefing newsmen, senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, BJP has win two-third majority in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Assembly elections. These election results have also dispelled the repeated assertion of political analysits that if you win two-third majority it will be a big win. The entire architecture of big win has been changed by the BJP in the line of outstanding results of the two states.
He quotes party president Amit Shah as saying that because of his extraordinary connect with the people, the kind of trust the people have, Narendra Modi is the most popular public leader of the country.
Party sources said, BJP’s Mission 2019 will get its final shape at the conclave. They said, the meeting will also discuss to ensure that benefits of all the schemes and policies of the Central government reach to grassroot level. They said, top leadership is likely to give a call for pushing the party’s expansion in the new territories like Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Tripura, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Earlier, addressing a preparatory meeting of top office-bearers at the venue, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu has expressed confidence that BJP will come to power in Odisha in 2019. Mr. Naidu, who reached Bhubaneswar this morning to attend the BJP’s national executive meeting, said that the people of the country have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi government for its pro-poor schemes and policies.
