Apr 18,2017: BJP demanded immediate resignation of the tainted Cabinet ministers of West Bengal after CBI booked 12 ruling TMC leaders in connection with the Narada sting operation case.
Party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya in Kolkata yesterday said that tainted ministers have lost the moral right to continue in office so West Bengal Chief Minister should immediately remove them from the ministry.
A total of 12 Trinamool Congress leaders, including MPs and ministers in the West Bengal government, and an IPS officer have been booked by the CBI, yesterday, in the sting case.
The agency has registered case of alleged criminal conspiracy and corruption against TMC Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Roy, Lok Sabha MPs Sultan Ahmed, Saugata Roy, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Aparupa Poddar among others.
Last month, the Calcutta High Court had ordered CBI to conduct a preliminary inquiry in the case in which several leaders of the ruling party in West Bengal were seen purportedly taking money in a video aired by media portal. The Supreme Court had also upheld the Calcutta high court verdict.
The Narada sting tapes showed people resembling senior TMC leaders receiving money allegedly for giving future favours. (AIR NEWS)
