May 30, 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has discussed issues relating to trade, investment, security with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin last night.
They also reviewed on role of both the nations in maintaining peace in South Asia region.
Indian Ambassador to Germany Mukta Dutta Tomar told media that the Chancellor appreciated the fast track mechanism for the FDI projects which had earned upto two billion dollars for the past two years.
She said the two leaders also discussed the issues relating to BREXIT, Afghanistan’s reconciliation process and other issues. The Indian Ambassador said, Mr Modi and Ms Merkel also discussed issues of terrorism and radicalisation.
The Prime Minister appreciated the presence of Germany in Afganistan to provide stability and underlined the need for reconciliation.
Our Correspondent reports that Narendra Modi will be rendered a ceremonial welcome this morning at the Chancellory, the official residence of Chancellor Angela Merkel today.
The two leaders will meet at the consultations and hold ministerial level talks in various sectors at the Inter governmental Consultations.
Mr. Modi and Ms. Merkel will be participating in the 4th Indo German consultations and address the business leaders at the summit. (AIR NEWS)
