June 28, 2017: In a significant departure from its demand for promulgation of Disturbed Area Act in Tripura, State BJP unit has sought Centre’s intervention in wake of violence allegedly unleashed by ruling CPIM. Today an 8-member delegation of BJP led by State vice president Subal Bhowmik today submitted a deputation to the Governor Tathagata Roy and demanded Centre’s intervention to maintain law and order situation in the State.
“During last 72 hours, large scale violence unleashed by CPIM supporters at the behest of the State Government. Situation is such that Government was forced to impose Section 144 in Belonia and Amarpur sub division”, said Subal Bhowmik.
