October 24,2017: Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani arrived in New Delhi this morning on one day visit to India. Minister of State for Defence Dr Subhash Bhamre received Mr Ghani at the airport.
During his visit, President Ghani will meet with President Ram Nath Kovind and have delegation level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister will host lunch in the honour of the visiting dignitary. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will call on President Ghani. He will also deliver a public address at Vivekanand International Foundation.
The visit will build upon the recent high level exchanges between the two countries, including the visits of Chief Executive of Afghanistan Dr Abdullah Abdullah and that of Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani for the meeting of the bilateral Strategic Partnership Council.
Both sides will review the entire gamut of multifaceted bilateral strategic partnership. The two countries will discuss the efforts to combat the menace of terrorism. They will also hold consultations and coordinate on furthering the shared objective of promoting peace, security, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan. (AIR NEWS)
