October 27,2017: The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested 5 persons in connection with the attack on a Swiss couple at Fatehpur Sikri on the outskirts of Agra. An FIR has been registered against unknown people in the case.
Secretary Home of the state Bhagwan Swaroop said, the involvement of five persons surfaced during the investigation and all of them have been arrested. He said, of the 5 arrested, three are minors.
The couple from Lausanne was reportedly chased and attacked by a group of young men on Sunday. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has sought a report from the state government on the incident. Mrs Swaraj said, Marie Droz has been discharged from hospital, while the condition of Quentin Jeremy Clerc is improving.
Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons has also written a letter to the state government and asked for speedy action, including the conviction of the guilty. (AIR NEWS)
