The Chief Minister said the government had committed itself to transparent, merit-based recruitment since the beginning of its tenure. He added that employment opportunities had brought happiness to thousands of families across the state.
Saha also addressed the status of TET-1 recruitment. He said the matter remained pending before the court and the government could not intervene while the case was under judicial consideration.
He emphasised that the government was pursuing development projects while continuing its efforts to generate employment for unemployed youths.
Government Focuses on Teacher-Student Ratio
The Chief Minister said the government was recruiting teachers to maintain the desired teacher-student ratio in schools and improve the quality of classroom education.
He stressed that adequate teaching staff remained essential to strengthening the education system. The latest recruitment drive forms part of the government’s broader efforts to improve learning conditions in schools across Tripura.
The administration has also introduced technology-based initiatives to support classroom teaching and encourage students to develop practical skills.

Under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) project, the government has brought 1,389 schools under technology-enabled education initiatives. It has also introduced smart classrooms in 1,210 schools and established tinkering laboratories in 367 schools.
In addition, the government has set up Teaching-Learning Material (TLM) Parks in 2,138 schools. These facilities aim to encourage students to learn through educational materials and practical activities, with particular attention to children in remote areas.
NEP 2020 Drives Education Reforms
Saha highlighted the role of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in reshaping India’s education system. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promoted an education framework focused on reform, student engagement, child-friendly learning and skill development.
The Tripura government is also implementing several initiatives to encourage students to continue their education, particularly girls and those from financially disadvantaged families.
According to the Chief Minister, the state has distributed bicycles to 1.64 lakh girl students to support their educational journey. The government has also provided iPads to students to strengthen the connection between technology and learning.
These initiatives seek to improve access to educational resources and help students adapt to technology-driven learning environments.
Scholarships Aim to Prevent Dropouts
The Chief Minister said financial difficulties should not force meritorious students to discontinue their studies.
Under the CM-SATH scheme, the government provides scholarships to meritorious students to help them pursue their education. Saha said the initiative reflects the government’s effort to ensure that talented students receive opportunities to fulfil their academic potential.
He also referred to the Super-30 programme and other initiatives that support students in their educational journey.
The government aims to combine financial assistance with improved school infrastructure and modern teaching methods. These efforts seek to make education more accessible while helping students develop the knowledge and skills required for their future careers.
CM Urges Teachers to Shape Students’ Futures
Addressing the newly recruited Graduate Teachers, Saha said educators carried a responsibility that extended beyond their professional duties.
He described teachers as the backbone of the nation and said they played a decisive role in shaping the careers of the next generation.
The Chief Minister urged teachers to treat students with sympathy and understanding. He also asked them to keep updating their knowledge and acquire new skills to meet changing educational needs.
Saha reminded the recruits that teaching was not merely a job or a professional position. Instead, it offered an opportunity to shape the future of young people and contribute to society’s progress.
