March 28, 2018: In many cases, several anomalies were found in the audit report of expenditures made during the 2006-2007 to 2015-16 FY. Several Gram Panchayats and Village Committees under Bishalgarh RD Block did not maintain Master roll properly. Similarly Boxanagar and several other blocks did not keep proper accounts and ignored official rules and regulations while making expenditures.

Addressing a press conference today, Deputy CM cum Finance Minister Jishnu Dev Varman said this.
He said, following directives from the High Court of Tripura, audit by a Chartered Accountant Firm was conducted for expenses incurred during 2006-07 to 2015-16 FY under MGNREGS and the audit report was made available to the Government on December 7, 2017.
In the audit report several anomalies were found. Jishnu Dev Varman said, several village committees and Gram Panchayats failed to show cashbook and Bank Passbook transactions.
At many places, concerned authority could not even produce necessary documents for allocation and utilization of funds under various purposes. He briefly focused on violation of rules and norms -both in maintaining proper records and make expenditures.
