Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today announced a host of social welfare and administrative measures fro the people of the state. Mr. Gogoi announced 15 new civil subdivisions in the state. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati today, Mr. Gogoi also announced 75 thousand new jobs in the state. He said that rice will be made available at rupees 2 per kilogram under National Food Security Act.
He also said that the Assam government will set up common community prayer halls and provide free medicines to the BPL families. The Chief Minister promised Wi-Fi connection in all colleges and setting up of development council for Brahmin and Kalita caste .
