Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that after the Pathankot terror attack, the Centre is reviewing its counter terror strategy. While addressing the valedictory session of Counter Terrorism Conference in Jaipur on Feb 3, he said, Government is now formulating an effective strategy which would help in preventing country from such terror attacks in future. Mr. Singh said, we are fully equipeed and prepared to deal with cross border terrorism. The Minister said government is stepping up vigil at international border ensuring pool proof security. He said, we are working on national security strategy aiming to achieve immense coordination between all the agencies.
Meanwhile, Punjab police has arrested a person in Pathankot alleged to be an undercover agent of Inter-Services Intelligence(ISI). He has been arrested on Tuesday on information provided by intelligence agencies. Police said the accused identified as Irshad Ahmed is an Indian and had taken up the job of a labourer on the directions of ISI.
Police has recovered photographs of sensitive installations and a smart phone from the arrested person. On questioning he revealed that he was given the task to collect photographs of sensitive installations and equipment inside the Pathankot Cantt. Police said he was sending photographs to another person who had been arrested in Jammu recently.
