Agartala, September 03, 2019: The State Government has decided to introduce the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme – Lakshya – to encourage youths for achieving success in national level Civil Service Examinations. The CM scholarship will help aspirants – only permanent residents of Tripura with annual family income not more than Rs 10 lakh are eligible to apply – to clear UPSC conducted civil service exams.
Higher Education Department of the State Government will implement the scholarship scheme. In two phases, total Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand will be transferred to selected aspirants bank accounts through DBT. Those who qualify for Interview will get free accommodation facility in Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi.
In the first phase, a total of Rs 1 lakh will be provided to successful candidates. After successful completion of Main exams, another Rs 20,000 plus free accommodation in Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi will be provided under the Scholarship scheme.
The scheme aims at encouraging and helping aspirants to complete Main exam followed by Interview successfully. For availing the scholarship scheme, successful aspirants will have to apply through the Higher Education website within two months after getting Prelims exam results. Notably, only five candidates could have cleared the Prelim this year.
