Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived late on Friday night in Vishakhapatnam for the International Fleet Review (IFR). He was welcomed and received by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandhra Babu Naidu and Governor ESL Narasimhan at Visakhapatnam Airport. Around 90 ships of Indian Navy are participating in the event. Over 50 countries participating in the mega maritime meet.
The 5-day event began on Thursday with the inauguration of maritime exhibition and IFR village. The main event will take place on Saturday when the supreme commander of the three forces, President Pranab Mukherjee will review the naval fleet. During the review, navy will showcase its capability and technical superiority. The world is witnessing the India’s prowess at the international fleet review taking place in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
Navies of 52 countries have gathered in the bay of bengal. Along with warships from across the world, Indian navy is displaying its firepower and blue sea capabilities in this event. 90 ships and vessels of the indian navy are participating in the review. The main event will take place on Saturday when the supreme commander of the three forces, President Pranab Mukherjee will review the naval fleet. During the review, navy will showcase its capability and technical superiority. Along with other attractions, all eyes will be on aircraft carrier INS Virat and INS Vikramaditya.

On 7th February, Indian navy will display their operational capability. International city parade will also be organised. PM Narendra Modi will be present during the occasion. On the second day of the fleet review, Head of navy, Admiral R K Dhowan addressed the media. He said navy has joined the Make-in-India program through its indigenization initiatives. It aims to make submarines through indigenous technology in future.
Navies from 52 countries including China, Russia, USA, Japan, Vietnam, Israel, France, Britain and Australia are participating in the review. Representatives of the participating countries have the hailed the military exercise as a significant event. Colorful programs marked the official opening ceremony of the fleet review on Friday. International fleet review will bear testimony to growing might of Indian Navy and the rising influence of India in the world.
