Agartala, September 13, 2019: The ‘Clean Tripura’ campaign received as major boost as Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today came out with a noble gesture – he announced to donate his six months’ salary for providing dustbins in rural markets.
“As part of observance of Seva Saptah to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, I will donate my next six months salary to 11 village market committees for installation of dustbins in rural markets,” Deb said at a programme today.
“Tripura can’t be transformed to a garbage-free state without cleanliness in rural markets. Once the dustbins are installed, there will be cleanliness in rural markets. And, it will automatically send a message to the households,” Deb said.
He also encouraged every citizen avoid single-use plastic for a healthy Tripura.
