Agartala, October 03, 2019: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today discussed various issues relating to development and prosperity of Tripura.
Deb placed a host of demands. The Chief Minister urged Hasina to start a direct flight between Dhaka and Agartala. In reply, Bangladesh PM gave mutual consent on this demand.
In another major issue, Deb urged Bangla PM to declare Sonamura with GOI Waterways as International Protocol route.
Shifting focus on boosting trade, Deb pointed out relaxations on 14 more items. Bangladesh Government already included seven items in relaxation list – with 14 more, number of items which may be exported through Tripura goes up to 21.
On another score, CM urged Sheikh Hasina regarding Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBN) services. Hasina assured Deb that Bangladesh was going positive in this regard. Government of India and Bangladesh is set to some agreements in BBIN, sources said.
