Tripura State Cabinet approved Spl package proposal for holistic Tribal development as well as cleared Super-30 which aims at enabling students for All India Entrance Exams
Agartala, December 04, 2019: The State Cabinet today approved a special package proposal for socio-cultural-linguistic and economic growth of indigenous communities in TTAADC area. Also, the Cabinet cleared ‘Super-30’ project in which Government will extend financial help to 30 students every year to avail coaching in other states for all India Entrance Examinations after appearing in HS (+2) exams. Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this today in Agartala. State Cabinet decisions in these two issues will have lot of significance in coming days, experts opined.
Nath said State Government took significant decision pertaining to holistic development of indigenous people and accordingly, State Cabinet gave its nod to send a special package of Rs 8802 crore 74 lakh proposal to the Central Government. He also pointed out that State Cabinet prepared a Rs 8389 crore special package proposal on January 01, 2019 and sent to the Central Government for approval. Later, Union Government formed a High power team to visit ADC areas and suggest the State Government modifications in January 01 proposal. Decision of the State Cabinet will cast huge positive impact on indigenous people, informed sources exuded confidence.
Based on the inputs of the High power Team’s recommendation, State Government prepared a new Rs 8802 crore 74 lakh proposal and today, the State Cabinet approved the proposal to send to the Centre.
What is Super-30
In another significant decision, State Cabinet approved ‘Super 30’ project. Under the project every year 30 students will selected from successful Madhyamik students. Each of the selected students will get Rs 2 lakh 40 thousand per year (for two years) for availing coaching facilities in other States for preparations to appear in All India Entrance Examinations. The project will be implemented from 2020-21. The Minister said that students would be selected based on their merits – of course, reservation would also be applicable in the selection process. “For this, Rs 72 lakh will spent on the first year and expenditure will go up to Rs 1 crore 44 lakh from subsequent years”, Nath said.
