Regional parties of Tripura called indefinite strike protesting against CAB. Parties demanded keeping Tripura out of CAB purview.

Agartala, Dec 07: Several regional parties of the State under the banner of Joint Movement Against Citizenship Amendment Bill (JMACAB) called State-wide Bandh for indefinite period from December 9.
In press meet, convener of JMACAB Anthony Debbarma said that leaders of regional parties and NGOs held a discussion on Friday and decided to launch indefinite strike in the State from Sunday. Leaders, however asserted that their agitation against the CAB would be peaceful. Among others, INPT leader Jagadish Debbarma and NCT leader Animesh Debbarma were present in the press meet today.
However ruling BJP’s ally in Tripura, IPFT is not a part of the Joint Movement. IPFT called 12 hour strike on December 9 protesting CAB and demanding separete State for Tripura indigenous people.
