Mizoram Chief Minister focused on aims and purposes of Zo Unity Fest and held elaborate discussion. Zo unity fest aims at unifying Mizo communities.

Agartala, January 11, 2020: The first edition of Zo unity festival, called Zo Kutpui, of Mizo people was held at Vanghmun in Jampui Hill under North Tripura in which Chief Minister of Mizoram, Zoramthanga, Mizoram Tourism Minister Robert Romawia Royte and other dignitaries including INPT leader Bijoy Hrankhawl (of Tripura) were present.

Mizoram Tourism Department and YMA Jampui Hill organized the programme. Sources said, Mizoram Government will hold Zo unity Fest in different States and the First Edition of the Fest was held in Tripura, This Zo unity fest aims at unifying Mizo communities spread in different parts of the country as well as in neighbouring countries like Myanmar.  The Zo unity Fest in Tripura started on January 9 last.

In Zo Unity Fest, Mizoram Chief Minister said:

Speaking on the occasion, dignitaries including Mizoram Chief Minister focused on aims and purposes of Zo Unity Fest and held elaborate discussion. Besides, Zoramthanga pointed out the issue of CAA and assured people that the Central Government had introduced the Act for the benefit of common people. Keeping up the spirit of Zo unity,the Mizoram Chief Minister also said, if Mizo people face any difficulty, we will hold talks and address the issue.

He hailed the Tripura Government for arranging basic facilities like water supply at Jampui Hill and he urged Jampui people to maintain peace and tranquility among different communities. He also lauded the efforts of local people in keeping Jampui Hill clean.

Mizoram Chief Minister lauds Tripura Govt

On demand for Mizo Regional Council in Tripura, Zoramthanga extended his support and assured that he would hold talks with the both the Central and Tripura Governments.

He also mentioned that Mizoram Tourism Minister Robert Romawia Royte, earlier, used to stay at Manchuang village in Tripura – later he went to Mizoram and became the Tourism Minister.

During the programme, Mizoram Ministers were in all praise for the Tripura Government. On multiple issues pertaining to Jampui Hill and Mizo people of Jampui, Ministers lauded approach of the Tripura government.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga also said that he would hold talks with Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb relating to renovation of road connecting Mizoram and Tripura via Vanghmun.
