Amid Covid 19 pandemic, Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) on Friday declared the results of board conducted Madhyamik exams. TBSE President Bhabatosh Saha announced the results through a press conference at the TBSE building in Agartala on Friday.
According to Saha, results of new syllabus exams were declared as all the exams of old syllabus could not take place due to the Covid 19 induced lockdown.
The pass percentage of the state had improved by about 5 percent as it stood at 69.49 percent in comparison to the previous year’s 64.60 per cent. Altogether 48,499 students appeared for the exams and above 31,000 students cleared the crucial board exam. Among the total examinees, 22,836 were male candidates and the rest of the 26,158 students were girls.
Dipayan Debnath of Netaji Vidyaniketan, Agartala – son of a vegetable seller – secured the first position in the probable merit list.
As per the result of abstracts released by the board, the pass percentage of indigenous students also improved but a slight dip was recorded in case of the Scheduled caste category students.
In the TTAADC areas the pass percentage improved in comparison to the previous year. The best performing district had been the Gomati district with 77.46 percent pass percentage and Dhalai came as the least performing district with 52.92 pass percentage. However, in both the districts, the pass percentage improved in comparison to last year. Saha said, altogether 80 schools of the state have 100 cent percent pass percentage and 5 schools reported to have zero pass percentage. The number of 100 percent performing schools was 53 and zero performing schools was 34 in previous year.
