Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday appealed to everyone to maintain peace & harmony in the state, and also open roads which have been blocked due to agitation. CM Khattar said, the Report of the Committee constituted on the issue of reservation will be out by the end of next month. An all party meeting was called by Chief Minister to discuss demands of Jat community leaders, who are agitating across the state, seeking reservation in government jobs under OBC category. Mobile internet services have been blocked by the administration in Rohtak since Thursday night. This is a precautionary measure to prevent rumour mongering.
The city has been hit by the ongoing protest by the Jat community that entered the sixth day on Friday. Violence broke out during a protest in the city on Thursday, leaving one dead and several persons injured. The administration has imposed prohibitory orders in the entire district, banning assembly of five or more persons.
