In Haryana, one more person was killed by the mob Friday night, taking the toll to three in agitation called over the Jat quota issue. Mob also set ablaze a shopping mall during the night despite curfew. Army could not reach Friday night as all roads were blocked. But, now the troops have started landing through Helicopters and being deployed.
The protesters have also stopped water supply from Haryana to Delhi. The schools and colleges have been closed till Monday. Army has been called in nine districts of the state to control the situation. Internet and mobile service has been also been blocked. Speaking to All India Radio, Haryana DGP said arrangements have been made to deal with any untoward incidents.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal has said that he is ready for talks with agitators. The State government may bring a bill for the Jat Aarakshan in the coming Assembly Session. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has appealed the people to maintain peace and order in the State.
