Yuva Vikash Kendra, Oisho Bani Society and NIFAA Tripura organized a relief programme at Badlabari ADC village under Tulashikahar RD block of Khowai District with the support of Steyler Mission, Germany on Wednesday.
Uncooked food items, masks were distributed among around 120 families by the organizers.
During the distribution programme Mevar Kumar Jamatia Minister of Tribal Welfare & Forest Govt. of Tripura, Er.Tapan Lodh (Retd.) Advisor of YVK & NIFAA, Father Jeevan Kanedy Director of Oisho Bani Society, Debashis Majumder President of YVK and NIFAA Tripura, Pinku Das General Secretary were present along with other volunteers of YVK & NIFAA Khowai District unit.
The organizers also conducted an awareness campaign stressing on maintaining physical distance and benefits of wearing masks during this critical Pandemic situation.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia thanked the organisers for conducting such a programme in his constituency and urged people to strictly adhere to follow Covid19 norms.
The recipients also has expressed great happiness after getting the essential commodities and urged to make more and more this kind program in this crisis moment.
Such programmes by the organizers, not for just distributing relief items, is playing crucial role for generating awareness to stop Covid19 transmission. As Tripura is witnessing daily death and spike in number of positive cases, it is important to reach to rural and under privileged people with the information necessary to combat Corona, opined a school teacher and he expressed hope that villagers will follow the messages and instances of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing to stay safe during Covid19 Pandemic.
