The Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has withheld salaries – not a salary cut – of 24 senior managers and managers for Poor billing performance.

Even as the TSECL took such a step, the Corporate Office extended a supportive hand to fulfil their target and get withheld salary.

In a press release the TSECL explained the back ground facts leading to the withholding the salary.

According to the press release, “Revenue realization from consumers is the basic need for TSECL towards its survival as it is a commercial organization in nature. In view of poor billing performance in April 2022 by some sub-divisions, overall performance of the Corporation as far as revenue realization is concerned has been deteriorated a lot in spite of repeated persuasion from the Corporate office in this regard. If such trend continues in the Corporation, it will be very difficult for the Corporation to stay alive”

The press release further read, “With a view to communicate the reality of the situation to all the family members of the Corporation, 40 per cent salary of concerned 24 Senior Managers and Managers have been put on hold (not a salary cut) for taking the corrective measure by the officers concerned. In this regard, supportive hand from the Corporate office has been extended to all of them to fulfil their target for achieving corporate goal and to make them eligible to get their withhold salary”.
