Tripura Pradesh Congress lambasted the ruling party on growing incidences of unemployment in Tripura, crimes against women and deteriorating law and order in the State.

Blaming the ruling party for attacks on the Opposition party leaders and supporters, party’s chairperson of Social media and digital platform, Supriya Shrinate flayed the BJP on Wednesday (Feb 8) and said such unabated attacks on opposition parties are unacceptable in a democratic set up. She referred to attacks on sitting Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman and said Roy Barman was attacked in presence of a Minister of the State.

Shrinate blamed the BJP government for its failure in preserving democratic ambience and maintaining law and order in the State.   

She also brought up the issues of unemployment and crime against women in the State and criticized the role of the government.

With Assembly polls slated to be held on Feb 16 next, all the parties have lined up an array of Star Campaigners to woo the voters. Even as BJP is much ahead in this front, Congress within its limited scope is also trying its best to reach the people and garner support for the candidates put up in seat sharing understanding with CPIM.

 

Congress leader Dipa Dasmunshi addressed an election campaign for Congress-CPIM candidate Gopal Roy of 9-Banamalipur Assembly Constituency on Wednesday. Party’s chairman of Media and Publicity department Pawan Khera was also present in the public meeting today.

Dasmunshi also took part in a road show for party’s candidate Ashok Debbarma in 19-Charilam constituency on Wednesday.

 

Besides, Supriya Shrinate criticized the BJP while addressing a poll campaign at Pabiachhera for its failure in fulfilling the poll promises made in 2018.

Former AICC secretary Alka Lamba attended in a street corner in support of sitting Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman at 6-Agartala constituency area today.
