Tripura needs a strong party like Trinamool Congress to free people from the present fearful situation, commented All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in a poll rally at Kadamtala under North Tripura on Friday (February 10).
“ED, CBI and other central organizations is conducting relentless onslaught against the TMC, yet the Party emerged unscathed. A strong political force like TMC is what Tripura needed at this juncture to dispel the fear from the minds of the people”, Banerjee said.
The Poll rally was organized in support of party’s candidates in 54-Kadamtala-Kurti – Abdul Hasim, 55-Bagbasa – Bimal Nath and 59-Pecharthal (ST) – Purnita Chakma.
Trinamool Congress MP Sushmita Dev was also present in the programme.
Abhishek Banerjee blasted at the BJP and criticized the party for ‘deterioration’ in law and order as well as ‘non-fulfilment’ of promises.
He said, Tripura was ruled by many parties – however, no party ever fulfilled its poll manifesto. Trinamool Congress in quite different as it makes promises to fulfil those and West Bengal is the proof.
“Trinamool Congress will fulfil the promises made in its manifesto. Our party is different from the other parties as our manifesto highlights our commitment in fulfilling the promises. We have demonstrated this in West Bengal and repeat here also” the TMC general secretary asserted.
He also commented that Trinamool Congress would not leave grounds and would continue to fight on behalf of the people of Tripura. He urged people not to be cowed down and cast their votes braving all the hurdles.
Alleging deterioration of law and order in the State, the Trinamool leader said Trinamool is committed to ensure peace in the State.
