In a massive crackdown on narcotics and drug abuse in Tripura, the jawans of Assam Rifles seized 800 kgs of Marijuana (Ganja) hidden at the backyard of Biplab Santal s/o Bappi Santal of Munda Para, PS Sidhai under West Tripura district on April 8, 2023. 

This seizure was made following information from a reliable source of a large quantity of illegal processed Marijuana hidden at Hezamara village.

After receiving the information, a team of Assam Rifles launched a swift operation and conducted a thorough search of the area, leading to the seizure of 800 kgs of Marijuana (Ganja). 

The cost of the seized Ganja is estimated to be Rs 2.4 crores by the State Police. Two individuals named Akash Rabi and Chitranjan Munda were also detained in connection with this case.

The seized Marijuana (Ganja) was handed over to Sidhai Police Station, Tripura, and an FIR was registered against the individual from whom the items were recovered. 
The jawans of Assam Rifles has been actively conducting operations to curb drug abuse and the sale of illegal drugs in Tripura, and this latest seizure is a significant blow to the drug trade in the state.

The Assam Rifles has been working in close coordination with the local police to conduct these operations, and their efforts have been yielding positive results. 

The authorities have urged the public to come forward and report any information regarding drug peddlers or illegal drug activities in the area to assist them in their fight against drugs.
