A shocking incident has come to light in Khowai District Hospital where the body of a newborn baby was recovered from a dustbin. The baby was left in the dustbin in front of the toilets of the women’s ward of the hospital and was later found dead by the cleaning staff on Monday.
According to sources, the cleaning staff immediately reported the matter to the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Rajesh Debbarma. Upon his arrival at the scene, he informed the Khowai police station and the police promptly took action to recover the body and send it to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
The identity of the person or persons who left the baby in the dustbin remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend the culprit(s). Such an act of negligence and inhumanity is unacceptable and authorities are taking this matter very seriously.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from various quarters of society, with many calling for strict action against the guilty parties. It is important to note that abandoning a newborn baby is a crime under the law and those responsible will face severe legal consequences.
The Khowai District Hospital authorities have also assured that they will take necessary steps to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future, and have appealed to the public to come forward and report any suspicious activity that may be related to this case.
