The Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started preparing for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls by focusing on strengthening its booths and held  a one-day workshop on Booth Sashaktikaran Abhiyan was held in Agartala on Saturday ( April 22). 

 

The preparations for the LS polls started just one and a half months after party’s victory in the assembly polls. 

The workshop was attended by BJP national secretary and Ranchi Mayor Dr. Asha Lakra, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, and Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, MP Rajya Sabha Biplab Kumar Deb, BJP state president Rajib Bhattaharjee, former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, MP Rebati Tripura and other leaders.

 

During the workshop, Chief Minister Dr. Saha emphasized the role of BJP karyakartas in keeping people in the right direction and avoiding misguidance from other political parties. He stated that while there are 3,328 booths in the state, not all are strong based on the results of the last assembly polls.

 

Dr. Saha also mentioned in a social media post that further strengthening of the organization is required at the booth level to spread the ideals of the BJP among more people.

 

Dr. Asha Lakra focused on strengthening the booths with new ideas and emphasized the digital presence of the party. She also paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister before leaving the state.

 

Other leaders also pitched for strengthening the organization to ensure a big victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. 

 

Dr. Saha expressed determination to gift two lotuses from Tripura to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha polls to strengthen his hands for a stronger and prosperous India.

 

The Chief Minister stated, “There should be no place for complacency; coordination between words and actions is required to strengthen the party at the grassroots level”.

According to the party leaders, the workshop held by the Tripura unit of the BJP will help the party to gear up for a strong showing in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
