Tripura Police underwent a major reshuffle of its top officials, with 13 IPS officers and three TPS officers transferred on Saturday (April 22) night.
According to the official announcement, G.S. Rao, the IGP of Crime and Intelligence, has been transferred and assigned to IGP of TSR and Operations. In turn, Soumitra Dhar, who was the IGP of TSR and Operations, has been transferred and posted as IGP of Law and Order.
Additionally, Ipper Manchak Dnyanoba, who returned from inter-state deputation, has been appointed as DIG of Southern and Northern Range, while Avula Ramesh Reddy has been named DIGP of Headquarters.
SP (SB) Krishnendu Chakravertty has now been assigned as DIGP of Crime and Intelligence, with additional responsibilities for SP (SB) and SP Vigilance.
Sudipta Das, the AIGP of Headquarters, has been moved to SP of Economic Offences.
Similarly, SP West Tripura Shankar Debnath has been transferred and posted as AIGP of Headquarters, and SP North Tripura Dr. Kiran Kumar K has been assigned as SP of West Tripura.
Moreover, SP Serious Crime and Economic Offence, Bhanupada Chakraborty (TPS Gr-I) has been transferred and posted as SP of North Tripura.
SP Khowai Rati Ranjan Debnath has been appointed as SP of Serious Crime, while the incumbent SP of Dhalai Ramesh Ch. Yadav has been reassigned as SP of Khowai.
Furthermore, Avinash Rai, the Addl. SP of Rural, West Tripura, has been transferred and assigned to SP of Dhalai.
Lastly, Manik Das (TPS Gr-I), who was previously in command of TSR 1st Bn., has been transferred and posted as SP of Traffic, while R. Darlong (TPS Gr-I), the incumbent SP of Traffic, has been attached to Police Headquarters.
In this reshuffle, total 16 IPS and TPS Police Officers were transferred.
