In sync with the nationwide launch, Tripura gears up for the commencement of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, scheduled for Tuesday, announced Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday during a media briefing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate the program from Jharkhand, with a concurrent state-level event at Agartala’s Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, as revealed by the Tourism Minister.
Chowdhury underscored the slew of people-centric initiatives and projects under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The overarching goal of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to extend the benefits of various governmental schemes to those who are yet to be included, he emphasized.
To ensure the initiative’s success, the Tourism Minister highlighted the formation of state and district-level committees, chaired by the Chief Secretary and District Magistrates, respectively. Additionally, seven IAS officers have been entrusted with monitoring responsibilities across various districts.
Adding to the agenda, Chowdhury disclosed the upcoming observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in the state, coinciding with the 148th birth anniversary of Bhagaban Birsa Munda.
Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs department, outlined the trio of programs slated for Tuesday – Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, and Proti Ghore Sushasan 2.0.
In commemoration of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, multiple programs are set to unfold at the Swami Vivekananda ground over three days.
Further details were shared by the Secretary, who indicated the flagging-off of two vehicles—one from Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala and another from Ambassa in Dhalai district. The objective is to raise awareness about various government schemes among residents of ADC areas and Gram Panchayats.
Expanding on the plans, the Secretary shed light on various programs and strategies associated with the three initiatives.
To ensure the effective implementation of Proti Ghore Sushasan 2.0 and Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, eight ministers have been assigned responsibilities across eight districts – Ratanlal Nath (West Tripura), Pranajit Singha Roy (South Tripura), Bikas Debbarma (Khowai), Santana Chakma (North Tripura), Shukla Charan Noatia (Gomati), Sushanta Chowdhury (Sepahijala), Tinku Roy (Unakoti), and Sudhangshu Das (Dhalai).
