In a remarkable display of academic excellence, Debangana Das, a student of Dhananjay Das Kathia Baba Mission School in Agartala, emerged as the top scorer in the CBSE Class XII examination across the entire North Eastern region. This extraordinary achievement has earned her the admiration and recognition of none other than the Chief Minister of the state, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha.

Dr. Saha, in a personal meeting with Debangana at his official residence on Wednesday, presented her with a tablet to aid in her future studies. The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt congratulations and admiration for Debangana’s academic prowess. He further took to Facebook to share his pride and joy, stating, “Congratulations to Debangana Das, who is likely the first ranker in the entire North Eastern region in the CBSE Class XII examination. Her achievement will be a great source of inspiration for all students in the state, especially girls. I wish her a bright future.”

Debangana, the daughter of Arun Kumar Das and Bina Shukla Das, achieved an impressive 99 percent in Humanities. She was closely followed by Samanta Bhattacharjee who secured the highest marks in Commerce with 97 percent.

Other notable performers included Nikita Saha with 95 percent, Indraneel Das with 94 percent, and Souhrid Das, Joyon Rudra Paul, Snehalika Das, Tanisha Debnath, and Sambit Ghosh all with marks ranging from 92 to 93 percent.

Debangana’s individual subject scores were equally impressive, with perfect scores of 100 in History and Painting, 98 in English and Political Science, 99 in Geography, and 94 in Economics as an additional subject.
